Since it's day 1 it only makes sense to start at the beginning. Congratulaitons on your upcoming celebration. There are many options to consider now that you are planning a Wedding, Birthday, Mitzvah, Anniversary, Holiday Party, Corporate Picnic, Team Building event... The best place to begin is with the date and place. From there everything and everyone else will fall into place.
The date & place are closely linked to one another. There may be some significance to the date you have in mind, or the place you want your celebration may only be available on certain dates.
